Presentation of Pirot municipality and Free Zone Pirot in Sava Center Belgrade

In the organisation of Permanent conference of towns and municipalities, in Sava Centre, on September 29, 2006, the competition “The award for the best example in local community management in practice” was held. The mutual project of Pirot municipality and Free Zone Pirot “The exaple of the state-private partnership f Pirot municipality and Free Zone Pirot” was recognized as one of the best, as the unique example of the successful cooperation in iniciating the economic development and solving the problem of unemployment
The potential of Pirot municipality and its contribution to the development of Free Zone Pirot and Industrial park, whic are the main force for the economic development of the whole region, were presented to the representatives of other municipalities, the members of the diplomatic core and the representatives of media. The presentation especially stressed the exquisite geotrategic positon at the corridor 10 and the unique facilities which Pirot municipality offers to the future investors in building and exploits of the premises within Free Zone Pirot. Pirot municipality enables tax free buildinf within the Zone, which makes the building cheaper up to 25%. This is the way for creating optimal conditions for attracting foreign investors and providing new posts.
Industrial park and the mutual project of Pirot municipality and Free Zone Pirot impressed the audience and they considered it as one of the most effective method for attracting foreign investments and solving the problem of unemployment.
Vesna Mijalkovic, the commissioner of Pirot district, Milan Popovic, prsident of Pirot municipality, and Milorad Spasic, the town manager attended the presentation in Sava Centre.
